Stud facilities & Services
Overlooking the picturesque village of Lambourn, Kingwood Stud is set in 165 acres of prime chalk downlands, just 60 miles west of London.
Our excellent facilities include 25 well sheltered post and rail paddocks of various sizes, 62 rubber-floored stables, one outdoor and two indoor schools, two covered horse-walkers, a treadmill, weighing machine and an all-weather track.
We pride ourselves on paying meticulous attention to detail. Our aim is to produce good, sound racehorses from quality broodmares.
The following services are undertaken by our team of highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff:
- International bloodstock agency
- Boarding of broodmares, foals and yearlings
- Foaling
- Preparation for all major sales
- Transport for all mares walking out during the breeding season
- Rest and rehabilitation of racehorses, including physiotherapy

Mehmet Kurt
Mehmet Kurt purchased Kingwood Stud at the end of January 2011. A prominent owner and breeder, Mr Kurt has had numerous racing successes in his native Turkey, including the winners of the 1993 and 1999 Turkish Derby alongside many other pattern victories. Mr Kurt has a passion for the well being of all horses, particularly those within his care. He has spent over 20 years examining various training practices, seeking to improve horse training and equine welfare.
